Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 April 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Kintsu mobile application and this website (together, “Kintsu”). By using Kintsu, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Who we are
Kintsu is an independent mobile application, developed and operated by Eugenio Lecci (“we”, “us”), an individual based in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@kintsu.ink.
2. Who can use Kintsu
You must be at least 13 years old to use Kintsu, or the minimum age for data-processing consent in your country (whichever is higher). If you are under the age of majority in your country, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
You can use Kintsu without creating an account, or you can sign up with an email address. If you create an account:
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe.
- You agree that the information you give us is accurate.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account Permanently. Deletion is permanent and erases your saved content.
4. Acceptable use
When using Kintsu, you agree not to:
- Use the app for anything unlawful, abusive, or harmful to others.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the app or its backend services.
- Use the Oracle feature to generate content that is illegal, threatening, defamatory, or that infringes anyone else’s rights.
- Bypass or attempt to bypass rate limits, entitlement checks, or any other technical measures in the app.
- Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or republish Kintsu content at scale.
We may suspend or terminate your access if we believe you have broken these rules.
5. Content
5.1 Our content
The quotes, aphorisms, design, and code that make up Kintsu are owned by us or licensed to us. You may read, save, and share individual quotes for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy the app’s content in bulk, or use it to train a machine-learning model, without our written permission.
5.2 Your content
When you submit a prompt to the Oracle, save a quote, or otherwise put content into the app, you keep ownership of anything you create. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display that content for the sole purpose of running Kintsu for you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
5.3 AI-generated content
The Oracle feature uses a third-party AI model to generate aphorisms based on your prompts. AI output is not always accurate, original, or safe — treat it as inspiration, not as advice. You are responsible for how you use anything the Oracle produces.
6. Subscriptions and purchases
Kintsu offers optional paid features through in-app subscriptions and one-off purchases, processed by Google Play Billing. When you buy a subscription:
- You agree to the price shown at checkout.
- Subscriptions renew automatically through your Google account until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from your Google Play subscriptions page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refund requests are handled through Google Play in line with their policies.
We may change prices for new billing periods, with reasonable notice.
7. Ads
Kintsu shows rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. Watching an ad is always optional — it is a way to unlock a feature without paying. We do not have direct control over which ads appear, but if you see an ad that violates Google’s advertising policies, you can report it directly via the ad, and let us know at hello@kintsu.ink so we can follow up.
8. Third-party services
Kintsu relies on third parties (listed in our Privacy Policy) to run. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the actions of third parties, but we choose our processors carefully and only share with them the data they need.
9. Disclaimers
Kintsu is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or availability. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the Oracle’s output will meet your expectations. The quotes and aphorisms in Kintsu are for reflection and inspiration; they are not professional, legal, medical, or mental-health advice.
If you are in crisis or need urgent mental-health support, Kintsu is not a substitute for qualified help. Please contact a professional or a helpline in your country.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of your use of Kintsu, including lost data, lost profits, or emotional distress. Our liability to you is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including (in the United Kingdom and European Union) liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for breach of your statutory consumer-protection rights.
11. Termination
You can stop using Kintsu at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the app. If we discontinue Kintsu, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your saved content where technically possible.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of Kintsu will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without limiting any statutory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will also notify you in-app. Continuing to use Kintsu after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
